Crane electrics & power supply
Electrics are the nervous system of every crane. MAZ Krantechnik takes care of crane electrics for cranes and hoists of every make: switchgear and control cabinets, wiring, power supply and electrical fault finding – in Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland and across Austria.
Switchgear and control cabinets for cranes
We build, extend and renew crane control cabinets – with contactors, protective devices, mains isolator and control transformer. We document every change in up-to-date wiring diagrams, so later maintenance and fault finding are quick.
Crane wiring and electrical installation
We rewire crane bridges, trolleys, hoists and operator controls, or replace damaged power and control cables. Worn cables and loose terminals are among the most common causes of intermittent faults – a clean installation prevents them.
Power supply: conductor rails and festoon systems
For a crane to run reliably, its power supply has to be right. We install, renew and repair:
- Conductor rails along the crane runway, including current collectors
- Festoon cable systems for trolley travel
- Supply cables, mains connection and crane isolator switch
We fix typical faults such as contact problems, worn carbon brushes or damaged flat cables permanently, not just temporarily.
Electrical fault finding
If the crane fails or keeps switching off, we trace the fault systematically through power supply, control cabinet, wiring, limit switches and drives. We fix the cause and check the crane before it goes back into service. In an emergency, call our 24/7 breakdown service.
Safety technology
Emergency stop, limit switches, mains isolation and protective devices must work reliably. We check, repair and retrofit them – on older cranes too.
Crane electrics and controls from one team
Electrics and controls belong together. For new PLC controls and radio remote controls see Crane controls & automation. Renewing all the electrics of an older crane is often part of a crane modernisation.
Problems with your crane electrics?
Whether a faulty conductor rail, damaged wiring or a fault in the control cabinet – contact MAZ Krantechnik for targeted fault finding and professional repair of your crane system.
Frequently asked questions
What is a conductor rail?
A conductor rail is a power rail system along the crane runway. Current collectors slide along it and supply the crane with power while it travels.
My crane keeps cutting out briefly – what could be the cause?
Common causes are contact problems in the power supply, loose terminals, damaged cables or faulty limit switches. Targeted fault finding shows us the cause so we can fix it for good.
Do you renew the electrics of older cranes?
Yes. We renew control cabinets, wiring and power supply – individually or as part of a crane modernisation.
Do you work on cranes of every make?
Yes. We work on cranes and hoists of every make.
Which regions do you cover?
We are based in Vienna (1110) and work in Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland and across Austria.
