In Austria, cranes, hoists and lifting accessories must be inspected regularly – and well maintained they last longer and run more safely. MAZ Krantechnik provides crane maintenance and periodic crane inspection under the AM-VO for overhead, bridge, gantry, jib and suspension cranes and hoists of every make – in Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland and across Austria.

Crane inspection to AM-VO and ÖNORM
We inspect to the Austrian Work Equipment Ordinance (AM-VO), the relevant ÖNORM standards and the manufacturer’s specifications. Among other things we check:
- Structure, crane runway and connections
- Hoist, ropes, chains and load hooks
- Brakes, limit switches and emergency stop
- Crane and trolley travel drives
- Electrics, controls and radio remote control
- Markings and load capacity information
You receive a clear inspection report for your crane logbook. We describe any defects clearly – and can fix them straight away with our crane repair service.
Inspection of hoists and lifting accessories
Electric chain hoists, wire rope hoists and lifting accessories such as spreader beams and load hooks also need periodic inspection. We inspect them together with your cranes and document the results.
Scheduled crane maintenance
We maintain hoists, travel drives, brakes, ropes, chains and controls according to the manufacturer’s specifications and operating conditions: checking wear parts, adjusting brakes, lubricating and testing safety functions. That way we spot wear early – before it turns into downtime.
Maintenance and inspection contract
With a maintenance and inspection contract we plan the dates together, around your operating hours. We remind you in good time when inspections are due, you have one fixed contact, and every report is properly documented.

What is the crane logbook?
The crane logbook documents the inspections and findings for a crane. After every inspection you receive the report from us.
What is the difference between maintenance and inspection?
Maintenance keeps the crane in good condition – wear parts, brakes, lubrication. Inspection confirms that it is safe to operate and is documented. Ideally we combine both in one visit.
